Federal Reserve’s next move will bring moonshot or mayhem?

-

The crypto world is buzzing like a swarm of caffeinated bees as the Federal Reserve’s upcoming FOMC meeting on October 29 looms large.

Traders are squinting at the charts, hoping for a 25 basis point rate cut that could kick Bitcoin, and the entire crypto market, into overdrive. But what’s the reality?

Liquidity for crypto

This FOMC session is the first meeting since the U.S. government decided to host a spectacular shutdown party, courtesy of partisan chaos over health insurance funding.

Markets are already betting on the Fed to slice interest rates from the current 4-4.25% range, hoping for some sweet liquidity to flow into crypto coffers.

David Hernandez, a Crypto Investment Specialist at 21Shares, paints the scene perfectly, over the past months, investors have been playing the financial equivalent of musical chairs, switching between gold, stocks, and crypto in response to geopolitical curveballs.

When tensions flare, gold shines, equities rally on dips and optimism, but Bitcoin? It flexes when risk appetite storms back with a vengeance.

New Bitcoin ATH

Now, with whispers of a rate cut growing louder, Bitcoin’s breakout above $112,000 has analysts buzzing. Michael van de Poppe, a market ace, tagged that price as a “crucial resistance zone.”

Once pierced, Bitcoin’s bull run will charges full throttle. Sure, some expect a brief breather before the Fed’s decision, but the real fireworks could come right after, potentially pushing Bitcoin toward a fresh ATH come November.

More cuts

Adding a splash of whale-sized confidence, on-chain data spotted a massive player, we can be creative and calling for example as whale 0x960B, dropping 3.72 million USDC into Hyperliquid within nine hours.

That’s a serious 15x leveraged long dream, $27.7 million clocked as 240 BTC and $20.3 million in 4,874 Ethereum locked in, signaling sharks circling with bullish intentions ahead of the Fed’s ruling.

Hernandez sums it up, and says that the mix of expected Fed easing and brighter clouds over U.S.-China trade talks have reignited Bitcoin’s mojo.

If the Fed delivers more cuts and diplomacy hits its stride, Bitcoin and fellow risk assets could ride a new wave of speculative zeal.
