Truth Social’s token won’t come, but something else likely will

-

Trump Media had a big, ambitious plan to launch their very own cryptocurrency. But now? They’ve changed the tune, rolling with Crypto.com’s Cronos token instead.

This move is like a caporegime cutting a deal with a powerful ally rather than building a gang from scratch. Smart, slick, and with billions on the line.

Revamped rewards program for the users

Truth Social, known for its fierce stance against what it calls Big Tech censorship, just dropped fresh platform features last Tuesday.

We’re talking stuff like editing posts, scheduling content, and saving drafts, basic stuff for any decent social network, but shiny new for this crowd.

More importantly, they revamped their rewards program, users earn gems for activity, which you can now swap for real, tradable CRO tokens through Crypto.com’s wallet system.

No more messing around with a Trump Media-only token.

Buying 684 million CRO tokens for $105 million

Back in April, CEO Devin Nunes hinted at a native token that might pay for Truth+ subscriptions and fuel a rewards program.

That sounded like a masterplan, but months later, reality checks in.

Instead of launching their own token, stuff that’s tricky and fraught with regulatory headaches, they struck a $105 million deal with Crypto.com, buying over 684 million CRO tokens at about 15 cents a pop.

This joint treasury move wants to build a $6.4 billion CRO war chest. You don’t get that without ambition and a bit of hustle.

Truth Social’s parent company, Truth Media and Technology Group, went public last March, hitting an impressive $8 billion valuation.

It’s currently holding around $5.5 billion market cap, thanks to Donald Trump’s brand power and its growing streaming arm, Truth+.

Plus, their fintech side, Truth.Fi, launched earlier this year, is hunting Bitcoin and other cryptos, keeping the digital finance flame burning bright.

The biggest names in the business

This partnership with Crypto.com is like backing a token, but it’s also a sign the company’s ready to play big in the crypto arena while dodging the risks of launching their own coin.

Think of it like going into a mob war with a powerful ally instead of your cousin’s scrapyard crew.

Truth Social’s bet on CRO is a defining step mixing social media, crypto rewards, and serious cash.

So next time you log in, remember, those gems could be your ticket into the crypto game, powered by one of the biggest names in the business.
